  3. Remove heat and toss in croutons until liqiud is absorbed (they should be moist but not soggy)

Store croutons in a covered container or plastic bag. These were better than restaurant style croutons!! The only changes I made was I cut the bread into cubes first, than. Crouton stuffings are a bit softer than cornbread stuffings and even quicker to make. For added flavor, these croutons can be made with other breads, such as seeded, nut, raisin, sourdough or rye.
