A spicy, delicious Soya Pulao is an Indian weeknight dinner table favorite, and it comes together Long before soy products like tofu and soy milk made an appearance in India, there were soya. In this soya bean pulao recipe, nutritious soya granules and rice are sautéed in ghee with fresh vegetables and spices and then cooked like a normal pulao making it a well balanced meal in itself.

You can serve Soya Pulao with a simple Raita, mixed Vegetable curry or Chicken Curry. Soya Pulao is a low-calorie soya delicacy, a favourite with nutritionists. Its high protein and heart- protective compounds make a healthy addition to the regular pulao. This Soya Chunks or Mealmaker Pulao is somewhere near to the Soya Chunks Biryani I posted, but this recipe takes less time and can be done in jiffy if we have cooked rice in hand.

Instructions to make Soya pulao:
  1. Heat oil in a pan add cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, green chillies,ginger garlic paste and saute well.
  2. Add all the vegetables and Soya chunks and cook well.
  3. Now add the cooked rice, salt, and coriander leaves.
  4. Sprinkle the jeera powder and mix well.
  5. Serve hot with any gravy (paneer or chicken)
