- Bring milk to boil and reduce a little. Reduce heat and add the strained flower slowly over flame and mix well until forms a soft dough (might feel a little dry but that will be OK when you add egg and oil later). Remove from heat, add vanilla, whole egg and oil ( knead while the dough still warm otherwise it won't be smooth and soft)
- Divide into small pieces (u can make 20 pieces or more from the dough). Take a roller board and spread Lil oil on it so that the dough doesn't stick while rolling. give a rope shape and then shape like a coil. Secure the end so that it doesn't uncoil while frying & soaking in syrup.
- In a saucepan take water, put spices of syrup list and bring to boil. After some time remove star Annie's from boiling water or the flavor will be too strong. Add sugar, dissolve and boil some more time to reduce the water. Reduce heat and keep shimmering.
- Deep fry the swirls till brown and keep in a large bowl. Pour the syrup over fried swirl and immerse those completely in syrup. Let it cool and then keep in fridge for 3-4 hours or overnight.
