Bourbon glazed salmon is a really simple and delicious salmon recipe served with a sticky and sweet orange, honey and bourbon-based sauce. Put the salmon in a gallon plastic bag, add the marinade and distribute evenly. With the damage done but not forgotten, I went to the store a few days later to pick up another favorite "lazy" meal: Bourbon Salmon.

The ingredients needed to make Bourbon Based Salmon:
  1. Get 1 1/2 lb salmon fillets
  2. Prepare 1 Marinade
  3. Get 1/4 cup brown sugar
  4. Take 3 to 4 tablespoons of good bourbon
  5. Take 3 tbsp green onions, chopped small
  6. Get 2 tbsp soy sauce
  7. Get 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  8. Take 1/2 inch fresh ginger,peeled and finely chopped

Place salmon fillets on top of brown sugar mixture. Turn salmon, and pour bourbon around the fillets. Spoon glaze over the salmon, and serve. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.

Steps to make Bourbon Based Salmon:
  1. place salmon skin down in shallow baking dish, making sure it can lay flat.
  2. remove any bones
  3. in a small bowl mix all ingredients of the marinade.
  4. pour marinade over fish and let it sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. turn the fish over so the skin is up, and refrigerate for another 30 min.
  6. take the salmon out and brush with a little vegetable oil.
  7. put on a medium hot grill Skin side up.
  8. cook 4 to 5 min. to get nice grill marks.
  9. if you , lift and turn 45° and grill for another 4 to 5 min.
  10. fish is done when you can easily slide the fish off the skin.
  11. when you flip the fish over the second time baste with a little of the marinade.
  12. this can be served hot or cold!

While salmon cooks, pour marinade into sauce pan. Remove from heat and top salmon with glaze. It's my go-to drink of choice. I also added two minced shallots. I made the same amount of sauce and used a little more than half of it to marinate the salmon.
