Yogurt - non-Greek and whole milk if you can, a good quality extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, some fresh mint, a squeeze of lemon juice, and Bob's your uncle - whatever that means. Of course if you want to turn this sauce into more of a dip, feel free to use Greek yogurt instead of plain. Great with veggies, baked chips, sandwiches and more. Being healthy doesn't mean you have to sacrifice flavor.
Instructions to make Yogurt, dill and sumac dip:
- Mix the garlic, dill and yogurt together.
- Squeeze the lemon juice over the yogurt mix. Sprinkle the sumac on top and some extra dill. And that’s it 😋
This yogurt-based dill dip is a great alternative to less healthy dips. Mix all ingredients in a medium sized bowl until smooth. Serve with pita chips (Za'atar is a flavorful middle eastern spice blend of dried thyme, marjoram sumac and toasted sesame seeds that can often be found at specialty food retailers) Whisk together yogurt, dill, chives, scallions and mustard. Taste and season well with salt and pepper. Sauce can be used immediately but improves after an hour's rest.
